Fall plant sale with family fun in Bradenton this weekend

Palma Sola Botanical Park’s “Fall Plant Sale and More” returns this Saturday, October 2 for some Florida outdoor fun in Bradenton.

Plant collectors, novice gardeners, and seasoned green thumbs can all find something to love at the annual event, which features a wide variety of native and exotic plants for sale.

There will also be crafts to buy including wood, pottery, textiles and jewelry, as well as barbecues, candy and baked goods to buy.

Visitors can also enjoy music and stroll through the lush 10 hectares of Palma Sola Botanical Park. The park includes plumerias, palm trees, flowering trees, exotic fruit trees and other colorful subtropical flora.

Entrance to the non-profit Botanical Park is free all year round and it is open daily from 8:00 a.m. until dusk. The organization collects all of its funding through rentals, donations, and events such as plant sales. Last year, rental cancellations due to COVID-19 left the nonprofit park with a financial deficit and prompted executives to launch a crowdfunding campaign. To date, GoFundMe has raised approximately $ 13,000 for keep the entrance to the park free.

Admission to the Saturday Plant Sale is also free, but donations are welcome.
