NEW DELHI : Here are the top 10 stocks that will make the news on Monday:

HDFC Bank: The bank’s quarterly profit rose 18% in the quarter ended in September, supported by strong loan growth. The net result amounts to ??88.3 billion rupees ($ 1.17 billion), up from 75.1 billion rupees a year ago. This exceeds the average estimate of 86.50 billion rupees.

Adani companies: Adani Wilmar has obtained Sebi’s approval for its upcoming initial public offering (IPO). The maker of the Fortune brand of cooking oil is a joint venture between Adani Enterprises and Wilmar International.

HCL Technologies: The IT company reported a net profit of ??3,265 crore in the September quarter, up 3.9% and beating Bloomberg consensus estimates of ??Consolidated operating income of 3,196.50 crore.HCL jumped 11% to ??20,655 crore in the reported quarter.

Avenue supermarkets: The company, which owns the D-Mart chain of stores, recorded a doubling of its consolidated net profit to ??417.76 crore for the second quarter ended September. Its operating revenue is up 46.79% at ??7,788.94 crore during the quarter. The total expenditure was ??7,248.74 crore, up 43.63%.

Coal from India: The mining company has cut supply to the non-energy sector, but has not completely shut it down, as some claim, to meet emergency power plant needs due to fuel shortages, a PTI told PTI senior manager of CIL.

Housing Financing GNP: The lender has aborted ??Plan to sell 4,000 crore shares to US private equity firm Carlyle Group and others. The deal got bogged down in legal tangles over valuation issues. Sebi had taken to the Supreme Court last month against the order of the Securities Appeal Tribunal in the case relating to the ??4,000 crore capital raising plan. The case is pending before the Supreme Court.

Indiabulls Real Estate: The company reported consolidated net profit of ??5.64 crore for the quarter ended September and announced Sameer Gehlaut’s resignation as a non-executive director and chairman of the company with effect from December 31.

Lupine: The US branch of the pharmaceutical company is voluntarily recalling all batches of two blood pressure medications due to the potential presence of a substance that can cause cancer. Lupine Pharmaceuticals Inc. is voluntarily recalling Irbesartan tablets and Irbesartan and Hydrochlorothiazide tablets from the consumer due to the potential presence of an impurity N-nitrosoirbesartan.

Mobile route: The corporate communications service provider has received shareholder approval to lift ??2000 crore from the sale of securities. A majority of shareholders also approved increasing the limits on foreign portfolio investments in the company.

Cyient: The company’s consolidated revenue for the September quarter increased 5% to ??1,111.60 crore, while net profit was up 5% to ??121.30 crore against ??115 crores.
